Bin Laden Is Dead, Obama Says

Just in case you have not seen a newspaper stand, watched TV, or been on the internet Obama delivered breaking news last night announcing the death of Osama Bin Laden.  Obama announced that on Monday April 25th he sent a small amount of soldiers on a mission to capture Osama.  With the refusal of arrest Osama's security they opened fire at our American soldiers.  Thankfully none of our brave soldiers were wounded but they ended up killing all of Osama's security and Osama Bin Laden himself.  They detained his body and buried it at sea respecting the Muslim tradition of burring the dead within twenty four hours of the death.

Many people have mixed emotions about the death of Bin Laden. We should not be celebrating his death, but the peace that his death brings.  Although killing the leader of Al Qaeda does not mean that Al Qaeda as an organization has been completely diminished.  I fear retaliation now more than ever.  Look at our own government, if you kill the President your punishment without trial is death penalty.

Al Qaeda can see how Americans are celebrating the death of their leader but in reality we can be fueling their desires for retaliation, being humble and celebrating peace is what seems rational to me. Hopefully we are at peace now.

Budweiser Ad

Budweiser aired a 'controversial' ad that some people claimed promoted a gay lifestyle.  The commercial started off with the solider calling and saying he was coming home.  The man he calls seems to be a brother in my eyes, and arranges a surprise welcoming home party for the soldier.  It has been said the music and the embracing of the two men when they are reunited it was comes off as promoting a 'gay lifestyle'.  Take a look, what do you think?

France Enforces Ban on Full-Face Veils in Public

In a governing party press held public debate 2 women in full head veils were detained on Monday in France.  As you may recall a year ago France outlawed full head veils being worn, the law also is applied to foreigners.  The group of female that wear the full head veil are called Niqab and they were it so you can categorize them as a female or male.  They are seeking equality in a prejudice world.  I do not necessarily agree with this law because it is not harming any one in practicing such way.  But in a public crowd on a political debate I do not think it is safe.

Obama Meeting Fails to End Stalemate Over Federal Budget

Wednesday afternoon the house representatives and senate seemed to agree on budgets cuts, so congress had a meeting that night to solidify their agreement. As the meeting progressed it was clear that the neither political parties of congress were willing to compromise. Congress still has not come up with a budget agreement and the deadline is tomorrow, Friday April 8th.  President Obama does not want to cut aide for health and educational programs, where as some republicans want a higher cut for all programs.  Obama does not want to sign a short-term spending plan, but he said he will sign one if needed on Friday if so they can continue debate.  The temporary agreement includes cutting severe military funding, and will fund the Pentagon until September 30th.  Representative Kevin McCarthy of California said:

"We have people today fighting for our liberty and our freedom, and you do not want to pay them?"

President Obama stated that not coming to an agreement will lower our economy, and it’s all over politics.  Mr. Boehner a congressional leader feels that President Obama is not leading this debate on budget cuts, he needs to intervene.

Personally health, education, and military should not be the primary concern of budget cuts.

Japan Fears Nuclear Reactor Is Leaking Contaminated Water

We cannot guarantee safety at the moment as the situation is still under evaluation”
_ U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Dr. Gregory Jaczko,

Japan’s nuclear power plants have been leaking since the earthquake. Workers have been exposing themselves to radiation to try to find a solution the problem.  Originally, it was said that tower 3 was leaking, but now tower 2 tunnels have a high levels of radiation and now fear that the radiation will reach the ocean.
Two workers were working in cleaning tower 3’s tunnel and both workers feet and ankles were burned after stepping highly radioactive water.  Over the weekend, a worker trying to measure radiation levels of the water at Reactor No. 2 saw the reading on his dosimeter jump beyond 1,000 millisieverts per hour, the highest reading on the device.  Normally the workers at the Fukushima plant are exposed to 50 millisieverts per year.
