Japan Fears Nuclear Reactor Is Leaking Contaminated Water

We cannot guarantee safety at the moment as the situation is still under evaluation”
_ U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Dr. Gregory Jaczko,

Japan’s nuclear power plants have been leaking since the earthquake. Workers have been exposing themselves to radiation to try to find a solution the problem.  Originally, it was said that tower 3 was leaking, but now tower 2 tunnels have a high levels of radiation and now fear that the radiation will reach the ocean.
Two workers were working in cleaning tower 3’s tunnel and both workers feet and ankles were burned after stepping highly radioactive water.  Over the weekend, a worker trying to measure radiation levels of the water at Reactor No. 2 saw the reading on his dosimeter jump beyond 1,000 millisieverts per hour, the highest reading on the device.  Normally the workers at the Fukushima plant are exposed to 50 millisieverts per year.

Conveniently this weekend was my nephews 3rd birthday party, and I found a picture my friend and I took when we road tripped to Maryland over Christmas break.

Allies Target Qaddafi’s Ground Forces, but Resistance Continues, Reports Say

Did anyone think that Col. Qaddafi and his supporters would have put up a fight for this long?  Did it occur to you that several countries will unite and try to force Qaddafi to leave?  A bombing mission was executed late Sunday, bombing what is said to be Qaddafi's place of administration.  Although there were no casualties, the bombing was not intent to kill Col. Qaddafi, but instead to have Pro-Qaddafi forces back off from trying to conquer Ajdabiya.  The Allied forces are being very cautious of when and where they are dropping bombs.  A pilot from France had to abort a mission so that he did not kill any civilians. The London Ministry said:

“Further information came to light that identified a number of civilians within the intended target area. As a result, the decision was taken not to launch weapons. This decision underlines the U.K.’s commitment to the protection of civilians.”

Libyan officials claimed and told the media that there have numerous casualties and injuries due to the Tripoli airstrikes.  Indonesian journalist were able to visit two hospitals and they had no increase in the amount of causalities since the airstrikes occurred- it seems like Libyan journalists and news reporters want the Allied forces to appear barbaric.

As of now Libya is parted East and West Secretary of  Defense Robert Gates says that he fears that Libya might be separated because Qaddafi's empowerment on the western side.

In Tsunami’s Wake, Much Searching but Few Are Rescued

Three days have gone by since Japan suffered the 8.9 earthquake along with the Tsunami.  The amount of bodies that have been washed out to shore, are now washing back in.  Police teams have found close to 700 bodies near the epicenter on the peninsula in Miyagi Prefecture, and now with the nuclear spill.  Prime Minister Naoto Kan, described this tragedy as a triple whammy; earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear leak.
Many businesses attempted to open and run regularly but with the black out it was not able to happen.  6 major train lines have been ruined and are interfering with the peoples commute to work.
Japan has the third strongest economy in the world today, and hopefully they will be able to bounce back from this natural disaster.

The internet unites everyone on a global basis.  With just a push of a button anyone with access to the internet can read what you posted.

The Newyorktimes.com has a minute to minute update on the Middle Eastern protesters.
